OSPAR Conference report for members Sept 2010
We provide here MARINET’s analysis of OSPAROSPAR Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the North-East Atlantic made up of representatives of the Governments of the 15 signatory nations.’s Quality Status Report 2010 (QSR 2010). QSR 2010 is OSPAR’s scientific survey of the change in the condition of the North East Atlantic between 2000 and 2010, and provides a forward look in terms of management objectives and policies to 2020. The MARINET Report analyses the accuracy and adequacy of the scientific summaries of QSR 2010, and our Report also looks deeper to suggest that whilst OSPAR’s management objectives and policies for the next ten years to 2020 are on the right track, they also need to embrace greater ambition.
