Scottish Marine Atlas published

Based on comprehensive scientific evidence made from data and analysis, Scotland’s Marine Atlas was published on 16th March 2011 as ISBN 9870755982547. Copies of the atlas together with a school pack have already been sent to all schools in Scotland.

The e-book was made fully available on 27th March 2013 and can be located by visiting www.scotgov.ehublibrary.co.uk/marine-scotland/marine-atlas where an eight minute introductory film can also be seen..

In support of this, additional resources giving an assessment of the condition of Scotland’s seas, additional material such as a photo gallery, posters, a question pack for teachers, atlas film and script and fun issues all to do with conservation, marine issues, fisheries and the sea are available as electronic copy on disc or USB by emailing email hidden; JavaScript is required or by calling +44 (0) 131-629 9966 for all general enquiries.

If anyone procures and has the opportunity to read these, a review of the coverage of contents and any major omissions spotted would be appreciated with a view to publishing these on this website. No aggregate dredging takes place off Scotland, so no issues of shoreline erosion may arise. But bottom trawling is an issue that should be included.
