David Levy – Be Careful What You Vote For – Apr 25

The global meltdown of international finance is the response by institutions to the tariffs levied by President Trump’s administration on the world’s economies. ‘Independence Day’ he calls it, whilst others call it the start of a worldwide economic Depression.

This current instability reminded me of why Nazism, Fascism and Communism took root in the past.

People voted for or placed the leaders of these political creeds in power, and that is still true today. It is remarkable that charismatic personalities hold sway over the masses, and continue to do so regardless of history and past mistakes.

I personally find them to be obnoxious and not worthy of contemplation, only to find them running amok around the world.

I can only assume that people become disillusioned with politicians who try to deceive us about matters that are obviously not what politicians say they are. It is clear that our society is engaged in this form of deceit.

We live, as I have mentioned before, in a fraudulent society and consequently we react and vote in order to express our concerns. That has led to speculative decision-making. A good example some people would say was Brexit. I have to say that the decision, made by the majority of voting public of Great Britain, was the result of a very poor debate about our choices on the issues and the potential outcomes for the individual and the country.

Today the world is watching, waiting and suffering. The old truth remains as clear as ever: those who do not learn from history, are destined to repeat it. Let us hope it doesn’t lead to World War.

So why is this relevant to the environmentalist?

Well, suddenly the environmental platform has been replaced with self-serving industries such as oil and gas being given carte blanche to exploit, to drill, drill and to hell with the consequences. In that kind of world there are no consequences, only employment and money, and all of you with an opposite viewpoint are nothing more than radicals and anti-country.

That is what America voted for, and that is what autocratic states insist is reality.

What a world order, what a mess.
