The fishermen of North Norfolk are seething over a high court injunction taken out against them by Dong Energy to stop them fishing in their best area of The Wash until 22nd October whilst offshore geophysical surveys are undertaken prior to establishing a major wind farm project.

The area in question has thousands of crab and lobster pots laid, with whelk fishing too, and is the major source of income for many of the areas shell fishermen, coming as it does in the middle of the crab season.

Dong Energy said that they are still trying to reach an agreement with local fishermen, but have to progress with their offshore geophysical surveys to comply with the terms of our agreement for lease with The Crown Estate, and that submitting an application for an interim order was very much a last resort.
